Movie Poster Design, Pt. 1

Movie Posters and Design
1) Create a poster using your "natural eye"
- Look up the traditional size of a movie poster
- For this project we'll be using a size of 20x32
- You can use whatever images are appropriate for your movie, but try to create a poster that is a totally different design than the one's used in the original posters.
- Be sure your design emphasizes the important things that you want to communicate about the move.

Photoshop Video Podcasts

Next assignment- Find a (CCS-appropriate) video podcast. Follow the tutorial and post your results here. Be sure to also post a 1/2 page report answering the following questions:

1. What's the name and episode of the video podcast
2. What did you like about the podcast? What did you not like?
3. How did it compare to other photoshop podcasts?
4. List 2-3 other photoshop podcasts that you could use to keep up on photoshop skills.
5. Can you find a good podcast for these topics? List them if you can. Maya, Illustrator, Graphic Design. Programming. Look for podcasts with tutorials and walk-troughs.

Your last assignment is to create a self-portrait in the style above. Grab or take a picture of your self, and use that as a template as you place the letters. This will look best if you pick a more standard, yet classy font.

Christian T-Shirts

This assignment is based off of the Chrisitianity & Culture discussion/ paper we completed in Computer 2.

You will create 2 t-shirt designs:
- 1 original design for the cheesiest christian shirt (an example of what's wrong in Christian t-shirt design)

- 1 original design for a classy, creative, and truly God-honoring design. (how the shirts should be)
Remember, there is a definite difference between cheesiness and blasphemy.
I'm also looking for designs that showcase your design and technology skills.

You will complete the following during the week of 4/21-4/25, and have the projects ready to grade on Monday, 4/28:

1) Energy Drink Project - Monday & Tuesday are considered "work days" for the project, but it will not be turned in until 4/28
2) 2  household items modeling project: Due 4/28 - Should have significant detail for 3 class periods of work.

Instructions for your Energy Drink Company project

Create the following
- the product logo and slogan
- a billboard in the correct aspect ratio
- a computer desktop image (smallest resolution - 1024x768) featuring your logo
- an unopened bottle with your product label attached. The label should include but is not limited to:
--nutritional facts
--UPC bar code
--Industry standard warnings, copyright information
--Slogan(s)

Write a 300 word document on the following:
Who specifically is your audience? How will your design reflect the audience.
What image of your product are you pushing? What do you want to come to mind when people think of your product?
What makes your product different than other already available energy drinks?
What events, tv shows, radio stations and other situations would you include in your marketing campaign?
Finally, why do you believe your drink will succeed?

You will create a 1024x768 image with your logo, slogan, billboard and label concept. This image will be posted as a comment to this post, and give a general overlook of your work.
You will post your desktop image to this post as a comment
You will also turn in a printed copy of your logo and billboard (one page)
You will turn in the completed, unopened bottle with your designed label.
Finally, you will turn in your completed 300 work document answering the questions above.
