Posted On: Thu, 2009-01-22 13:53 by mrschmid

Chapter 13 Study Guide
This is to help you study for your quiz over Chapter 13.
Do not only memorize this guide word for word, you should be prepared to show that you understand the terms and ideas listed below.
- A report presents data from a database in an organized manner with a descriptive title, headings and summaries.
- The report wizard is a easy and fast way to create a report
- Data Grouping organizes data by a selected filed and indents the data in the report, which makes the report easier to understand.
- A report summary provides statistics on a number field, such as an average or minimum value.
- A report can be modified in design view to change the layout, colors and add graphics.
- A report can be distributed in two ways: as an HTML document, or a report snapshot (which will have an extension of .snp)
- A calculated field displays the result of a mathematical expression and is defined in a select query. Examples of a calculated field would be Profit (Price-Cost).
- Information in Access can be exported to Excel, and data in Excel can easily be imported into Access.
- Access, like most Office Applications, offers linked data, which means data will be automatically updated when linked in another Office application.

A great way to study for the quiz would be to have a study partner ask you to explain the underlined terms above in your own words.
