Computer Applications Session 1 Hour 1

You'll need the brush attached to this story, and a picture or two to work with today. You'll also need to pay close attention when I show you how to do this cool effect. Here's the full size example

Apple Computers has decided to hire you as their new ad designer! Congratulations! They give you this picture and a chart of colors to use as the background.

Your assignment is to write your name in photoshop, but use the layer styles to match this image. Use this font. We'll go over how to install fonts in class. You'll turn your work in using the comments feature here. Here's the font unzipped

Here's a link to the gourd photo. Here is another example from one of my trips to Europe. Use the history brush to add the color back into the image.

Here's where you'll turn in the work. Remember 3 images - 1 with each shape on top. Also add drop shadows and layer effects to your name.

Creating a brush with your signature is a very useful and easy process. Open this image with your signature and follow the following steps:

1 - Crop away the image so only your image is around

2- Use the magic wand tool to select the white background

3 - Select the inverse (Select-->inverse) or Cntrl+shift+i

4 - Goto edit --> define brush preset

5 - give your brush a name

6 - now you can add your name to any photoshop file, just select the color, pick the brush and click once to paint your name

Andy Warhol was an influential artist that pioneered the pop art style. Today we'll be mimicking his style in photoshop. Use either of the following tutorials:
